Starting the DAQ farm

Starting the logger
-
Log on to slice@emuslice10.

Type emuLogger
The consol log messages will appear in this window. In parallel, a log file will also be written to emuslice10:/log/EmuDAQ.log

Launching the executives for the first time
-
Log on to slice@emuslice10.

Type
source emuPass
if you haven't yet done so in this shell.
You will be prompted for the pass phrase.

Type
emuFarmer -c http://emuslice10/slice/config/EmuConfig.xml -a status
to see if any forgotten, leftover processes are running.
If so, stop them by
emuFarmer -c http://emuslice10/slice/config/EmuConfig.xml -a stop
If all clear, start the farm by
emuFarmer -c http://emuslice10/slice/config/EmuConfig.xml -a start

Relaunching the executives

Type
emuFarmer -c http://emuslice10/slice/config/EmuConfig.xml -a restart
(No need to get the pass phrase if emuFarmer is issued in the same shell as it has been before.)

Running
-
Starting/stopping the run
-
Go to the Supervisor's control page (http://emuslice10:40000/urn:xdaq-application:lid=40/).

If all applications controlled by the Supervisor are in 'Halted' state, select run type, run number and maximum number of events (-1 for no limit), and click on Configure.

Start taking data by clicking on Enable.

Stop the run by clicking on Disable.

Monitoring

Watch the DAQ's state on the Supervisor's control page.

For more detailed status, go to the DAQ Manager's control page (http://emuslice10:40200/urn:xdaq-application:lid=12/).
